Our Speech Pathologists:

Sarah Robertson trained in the UK and has worked in the public and private sector in both England and Australia.  She set up Mosman Language and Learning Centre and with Lynne, Lynette and Paula has been providing communication assessments and therapy for children in Sydney for many years. Sarah's interest is in working with young children and their families to provide the best outcomes in the years before school.  She works with children who have significant speech sound difficulties, language delay/disorder and with young children who have more significant difficulties in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delay and Dyspraxia.  Sarah also works with school age children to help develop any residual speech and language difficultiies which can impinge on their school achievement. Sarah has a Masters in Applied Linguistics from Sydney University and is Practice Manager at Mosman Language and Learning Centre. Sarah has four children - all boys! and has lived in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney for many years.

  

Lynne Lee obtained her Bachelor of Speech Therapy from Queensland University and has worked in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney as a speech pathologist.  Lynne works with pre-school children who are experiencing moderate to severe speech and language difficulties.  Lynne has a particular interest in working with parents of children with special needs. She is a trained Hanen Therapist in programs (More Than Words and It takes Two to Talk) that are tailored for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as for children who have a language delay.  Lynne also has specialist training in the Lidcombe Program for Young Stutterers which helps young children who are stuttering achieve normal fluency in their speech.  Lynne has considerable experience working with children who have speech sound difficulties and can follow up into the early school years assisting with development of phonemic awareness which is essential for reading .  Lynne has specialist training in voice techniques therapy for children and adults who are experience hoarseness and /or loss of voice. Lynne works closely with families, teachers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for your child.  Lynne has two teenagers and lives in the north shore area of Sydney.

  

Lynette Burness trained at Cumberland College in Sydney and has worked in the area of disability for many years. Lynette has post-graduate training in feeding and swallowing. Lynette's experience is particularly relevant for families whose child needs specific specialist support for more signficiant difficulties. Lynette has been responsible for delivery of direct therapy to children as well as the design and provision of many programs for use in the classroom and at home. Lynette has designed and run many groups including classroom speech and language groups, sign language groups for children, parents and teaching staff, social skills for adolescents and therapy groups for verbal and non-verbal children. Lynette has considerable experience in creating visual aids and developing specific communication aids for children and has extensive experience assessing and treating feeding and swallowing difficulties in young children - this includes designing mealtime plans specific to the child's needs in each setting.   

Lynette also enjoys working with children who are experiencing a more general speech and/or language difficulty and preparing them for entry into school.  Lynette has two teenagers and lives in the north shore area of Sydney.

  

Paula Jones trained at Manchester University in the UK and did her Masters degree at Sheffield University, UK.  Paula has worked as a speech pathologist, special educator and pre-school teacher at  Macquarie University's Special Education Centre (MUSEC) with children aged between 0-12 years.  Paula has worked with regularly developing children, children with learning difficulties, children with disabilities and children who are gifted and talented.  She has considerable experience in behaviour management, early intervention and Augmentative and Alternative Communication.  Paula is also a Hanen Trained therapist in the More Than Words and It Takes Two to Talk programs.  Paula also works with children who are experiencing a more general speech and/or language delay in pre-school and school aged children.  Paula has two young children and has lived in the north shore area of Sydney for many years.
